Accomplished New York City Felony Trial Attorney Rachel Buchter

An experienced trial attorney in New York City, Rachel Buchter has served as Bureau Chief of Felony Trial Bureau III of the Queens County District Attorney’s Office in Kew Gardens since 2021. Rachel Buchter joined the District Attorney's office in 1998 as an Assistant District Attorney and has tried over 75 felony cases as a first chair attorney.

As the Bureau Chief, Ms. Buchter is responsible for the supervision of approximately 850 felony cases pending disposition. She regularly prepares and presents bureau briefing reports directly to the District Attorney. She has received several honors and awards during her career in law, including recognition from the Crime Victim's Advocate Program for her work on a homicide case and the 2018 Legal Society Distinguished Service Award from St. John's University, which recognizes leadership, service, and dedication to the university’s legal students.

A member of the District Attorney’s Association of Queens County, Rachel Buchter received her law degree from St. John’s Law School in Queens. She majored in Social Science with a minor in Women's Studies as an undergraduate at the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
